Here are a bevy of autofocus lenses made for the Sony NEX system mounted on the new Sony A7r. The red boxes show a 1:1 or square aspect ratio and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The lenses have rear baffles which were not removed. Most of the prime lenses can provide a square image with a little bit of vignetting. 16:9 images show heavy vignetting, maybe we can extract a 2.35:1 Cinemascope / Panavision image with the A7r's 36 megapixels to play with.

    Switch to APS-C mode on the VG900/A7/A7r if you don't want vignetting from using APS-C lenses with a full frame sensor.

      Yes but you then only get a 16mp image so I may as well just use the lens on my nex7 the point of this article is squeezing the most mpx image from the lens.

      Interesting the 10-18 wasnt shown as at 15mm it has no vignette and the image circle covers the full sensor.

    Thank you for posting this. I've been spending a lot of time looking for the 16mm pancake lens on the full frame Sony A7r. I'd probably still use it as it's about a 24mm equivalent when cropped right? Still, not bad for $250 and pretty wide.

      Yes in aps-c mode it translates to 24mm and with the ultra wide adapter it's 18mm.

Slow and Quick Video Mode Options for Timelapse Shoot Timelapse Videos with Sony Alpha Cameras using Slow and Quick (S&Q) Motion Video Mode Christopher Burress shows us how to take a time lapse video with his Sony a6500 . He uses S&Q Mode which is found in the Video Settings. This is identical to the method we need to use on the new a7r iii .
