Sony NEX Viewfinder with Magnifier

Doug F sent us an email showing his NEX-5 viewfinder. It's reminiscent of the Hasselblad Waist Level Finder where you focus using the lcd surrounded by a hood and if needed you can flip up a magnifier.

The components to make this viewfinder are a hacked clearviewer, the magnifying element, and a Sony NEX LCD hood. The whole unit folds up neatly and doesn't add bulk to the svelt NEX body.

If you're using manual focus lenses, shooting should be a bit faster since you don't have to magnify the image 7x or 14x.

The Doug F viewfinder is also easily detachable from the NEX-5 since it is only mounted using the LCD hood connections.

    Thanks, I Have been preparing to buy a Nex-3 from Amazon and I Know I'm going to be shooting in daylight, I had seen this hood but the only review for it was very negative on build quality, I know that people can sometimes exaggerate but I think that if the hood alone doesn't work I will order the special lens, and considering the clearview is made of metal I'm probably going to test the hood first.

Slow and Quick Video Mode Options for Timelapse Shoot Timelapse Videos with Sony Alpha Cameras using Slow and Quick (S&Q) Motion Video Mode Christopher Burress shows us how to take a time lapse video with his Sony a6500 . He uses S&Q Mode which is found in the Video Settings. This is identical to the method we need to use on the new a7r iii .
