Sony NEX Aperture Control for Canon EOS Lenses
Conurus has developed the electronic interface between a Sony NEX body and a Canon EOS / EF lens. This allows the aperture of a Canon EOS lens to be controlled by the Sony NEX.
Normally Canon EOS lenses are at minimum aperture when they are not on a Canon body. The lenses do not have aperture rings and when used with an adapter on a Sony NEX body, the aperture cannot be changed. This Conurus system changes that.
Hopefully they can miniaturize the system.
Sony NEX-3 with Conurus Canon Aperture Controller
Conurus specializes in converting Contax N autofocus lenses for use with Canon EOS systems.
Cool, but this is just a start. The real tool shall not change the lens apperture while you are changing the A-number at the NEX. The apperture shall stay wide open (for easy manual focusing) and only close to selected value at the time of shooting.
ReplyDelete@Евгений and with a DOF preview button. I hope future E-mount lenses include this.
ReplyDeleteMake this a real product that works like it should and I'll buy it and an NEX-7. Has to function like the previous posters suggested. You're in the right ballpark...time for a home run. good luck!!!
ReplyDeleteConurus recently announced that they have IS working.
ReplyDeleteWe have decided to take down our "proof-of-concept" video posted on YouTube on March 12, 2011 because now that the actual product has shipped on January 18, 2012, there is no point showing the crude prototype any more. We will create and show a video of the final product on YouTube soon.
