Here's the Ownuser battery grip for the Sony NEX-3 and NEX-5 camera. It seems that grip can use two NPFW50 batteries to extend your shooting time. It also provides a better grip for shooting in the vertical position. All we see are wholesale prices which price each NEX battery grip down to $132.

    ...beside the time lapse/long hrs shooting, I guess another advantage is don't need the jtec_Camera Plate Tripod Mount (which cost $45). http://jtec-online.com/cameraplate.html

    Sound great for outdoor video shooting. If this wouldn't cause body overheat, I might get one soon.

    Seems like it would be a pain every time you need to load files to your laptop from the media card. I just take extra batteries in my pocket.

    Cool idea, but just not too practical, IMHO.

Slow and Quick Video Mode Options for Timelapse Shoot Timelapse Videos with Sony Alpha Cameras using Slow and Quick (S&Q) Motion Video Mode Christopher Burress shows us how to take a time lapse video with his Sony a6500 . He uses S&Q Mode which is found in the Video Settings. This is identical to the method we need to use on the new a7r iii . The cameras then combine all the files shot at one frame per second to a video shown at your set speed.
