    The USA Sony support says they have NO information about the timing of the posting, and further, the rep I talked to says they get a lot of calls about it. He sounded frustrated, too.

    I can't recommend the camera until I see the new UI so it costs them sales if I and others are all withholding recommendations.

    Btw, any ideas if after this update the LA-EA1 Lens Adapter autofocus with the Sigma alpha lenses ?

    Europe "esupport" pages offer the 3.0 firmware. Not yet so in North America as of Sunday AM in the US.
    Editing pix for a client taken with this NEX: a sunset that uses the NEX HDR to retain some detail in the waterfront house's yard. Not bad but the [combined]file has some oddities around palm foliage against the sky. Requires increase in saturation and contrast locally in LR3.2. Still, an amazing time saver over post-processing for those situations in which it "works" to level of quality required by any particular client.

Slow and Quick Video Mode Options for Timelapse Shoot Timelapse Videos with Sony Alpha Cameras using Slow and Quick (S&Q) Motion Video Mode Christopher Burress shows us how to take a time lapse video with his Sony a6500 . He uses S&Q Mode which is found in the Video Settings. This is identical to the method we need to use on the new a7r iii . The cameras then combine all the files shot at one frame per second to a video shown at your set speed.
