  7. Make sure the iPad is not in sleep mode. Turn on NEX Camera.
  8. The iPad will start displaying photos from NEX-5 memory card.
    • We had Date folders in the NEX-5 but the iPad displayed all the photos at once.
  9. Select the photos to be imported by clicking on each one, or select none if you will import all the photos.
  10. Click the Import button and choose whether to Import only the Selected Photos or All of the photos.
  11. The iPad will start importing the photos, wait until all the blue checks turn green.
    • RAW files can be imported, but due to their size, take longer to import than JPGs.
  12. Choose whether to Keep or Delete the imported photos from the NEX-5 memory card.
  13. Press the Albums button on the iPad.
    • Do not turn off the camera like in the video. An image was corrupted on the NEX-5 memory card by doing so.
  14. The imported photos will be in the Last Import album. Click on the Last Import album.
    • It is now safe to turn off the camera and disconnect the iPad from the NEX camera.
  15. You can now organize your imported photos or play a slideshow with your NEX-5 photos right from the Last Import album.
*.mts videos from the Sony NEX-5 are not recognized by the iPad Camera Connection Kit and cannot be imported.

  2. As far as I know it is not possible. You can use any monitor with an HDMI input like the Sony CLM-V55.

  3. Apple has not made an iPhone camera connector. There is a zoomit sd card reader for the iPhone but you cannot directly connect the NEX to an iPhone.

  7. it doesn't appear to work for IPAD air. I got a 3rd party lightening to usb camera kit and hooked it up to my Nex5. Nothing happened on my iphoto, and "check the connected device" is shown on the camera. No joy.

    1. That's unfortunate, what camera were you using? The NEX-5R, NEX-6, and A7R all can use playmemories camera apps and does all this wirelessly.
